Frequently asked questions
FAQ
What is the difference between microblading and powder brows?
With microblading, hairstrokes are placed manually between your brow hairs. With powder brows, soft pixels are applied by machine between the brow hairs.
What is the difference between microblading and nano strokes?
Nano strokes are applied with a device with a very fine needle, placing pigment more superficially than microblading. This technique suits various skin types, including oily skin, and lasts an average of 1–3 years.
How much time should there be between treatments?
There must be at least 6 weeks between treatments.
Does a PMU treatment hurt?
Pain perception varies per person. You can ask your GP for EMLA numbing cream and apply it at least 30 minutes before your appointment.
Does PMU fade over time?
PMU lightens over time. A touch-up treatment restores the colour and shape to their original look.
What is the difference between PMU and a tattoo?
Tattoos use a different device and different pigments. PMU is placed in a higher skin layer, which is why it gradually fades — unlike a tattoo.
Which pigments does LYAÉ use?
I work with GGD-approved pigments: Perma Blend LUXE, Tina Davies and Etalon Mix.
I've had PMU done before — can you work over it?
Sometimes old PMU needs to be laser-removed first before working over it. This is assessed during the intake.
